My Birthday/Bon-Voyage weekend extravaganza!!!

I don’t even know where to start, I guess I will get right to it. My going away party turned into a Birthday bash as well because my birthday is Thursday February 24 (I will be 25 ahhh I am getitng old) and a few days later on March 1st I will BREAKAWAY. So here is what went down this weekend along with just a few pictures from the crazy fun weekend.

Saturday night was my relaxed party with family & friends. It was a pain to get everything ready , but well worth it in the end. I had it at my sister new house in downtown-Houston (thanks Ruby & Frank for letting me have it there). A lot of people showed up and I had a blast catching up with everyone. I of course spent most of the time talking with everyone and answering the million questions they had about my trip. In the end I had a blast loved every second of it. Here are some pictures of Saturday night.

These are my best-friends in the whole world. We have all known each other for most of our lives. We are the “Incredibles”…lol!!!

They don't want me to leave.
They don’t want me to leave.

Some of my family & friends.

My co-workers who have become like family. I love y’all~

Ummm you are going to have to find a new babysitter Yvette… cus I’m outta here!!!

Sunday was a whole different story. It started out with sushi happy hour at Zake Lounge and from there we went to JRs. Ummm unfortunately I do not remember most of the night. I got a little carried away with the $1 drinks since I was not driving. Everything turned out perfect and I had a blast though. Here are some pictures of Sunday night. Oh & I even got a picture of the twins I had told you all about.

These are my partners in crime. Some of the memories we have made are too crazy.

More of my partners in crime. Ahhh good times.

Me & Ross singing "Walk Away" by Kelly Clarkson. If I am going to karaoke it's going to be a KELLY song.

I finally got a picture with the dancing TWINS at JR's!!!

I am so thankful for all the people in my life, this past weekend was one I will never forget. I could not have asked for anything more, everything turned out perfect. I even managed to cry while reading all the cards I got. Thanks everyone for coming and for all the gifts. I had so much fun and am glad I was able to hang out with everyone one last time before heading off. I am going to miss y’all so much. Ugh just thinking about it makes me want to cry, but I know I will make new friends on the road. I will be okay and rest assured all of you are irreplaceable and I hope I am too…lol!!! Ahhh it’s so scary/crazy to think that in a week I will be on my way to Costa Rica.

EEEEeeeeeeeee IT’S ALMOST HERE!!!

  2. Wow, it feels good to be the “star” right? 🙂
I am going through the process of saying “bye” to everyone, but unfortunately (or luckily?) I can tell you I am used to it. But it’s always sad… I hate saying goodbye even when I know I will come back!
Well enough talking about me! 🙂
I am soooooo excited for you (I tell you this everytime! But this time it’s even more coz I can hear the clock ticking!) – Can’t wait to read about your adventures 🙂 And… possibly meet you in Italy? I hope!
Enjoy every moment… the trip might still have to begin but the whole process started already. You’re in the mood… Ohhh I can feel your excitement through your words 🙂

    • Jaja Giulia, it does feel good to be a star, even if its for a weekend. I have to agree it is hard to sy goodbye and thankfully I am not used to it yet. Thanks for being excited, I am so excited as well its crazy. I can’t wait to start writing about my adventures and yes I hope we do get to meet in Italy that would be awesome.

    • Erica, I had to get at least one with the twins after that extensive chat we all had about them a while back. Yes after today just 6 more days, EEEeeeee!!!

  5. looks like a blast man, awesome to know you have so many people who love you to death. I have actually found myself sometimes motivated to see the world and do my trip kinda “for my family and friends”. Meaning, for whatever reason they will never do it, but they can still live through me! lately I have been already thinking about my going away party, lol.

    • Yeah Scott I know what you mean. While I was chatting with everyone and answering the million questions they had, just about ALL of them said they would never be able to do something like am about to do. I of course let them know they really could if they set their mind to it. I guess its something a lot of people would love to do but would never actually do it. As for planning you going away party why not start planning it??? Make it a whole weekend…lol!!! When do you leave again?

  6. Wow, looks like you had a blast and I’m so excited for you to start your travels!!!! Can’t wait to hear about all your adventures!

  11. I had a good time @ Ruby’s & all…
Thanks to Maritza, Isis, Monica & Geronimo.
But more important to your familly and specially to you, because even that we didn’t spend a lot of time together I did have the oportunity to go and see you before your trip.

  12. Bonus points for karaoke!!

When we first started chatting you were months away and I can’t believe you leave in less than a week. JAIME, I AM BEYOND THRILLED FOR YOU!!

I’d be happy for anyone getting ready to kick off a trip like this, but you quickly became one of my fave tweeps, so I find myself “squeeing” every time I read an update from you. My 2 travel partners keep hearing me say “yay Jaime!”

Pues wow, the time is surely ticking away. I can’t believe you will be leaving Houston in just 5 days. How insane is that!!!! I remember when you first told me about your idea about traveling and stop living everyone else dream of what your life should be. You were so indecisive. But now I know that you are ready and responsible enough for yourself that I don’t have to worry.

I wish we could have spend more time together but you were like a chicken without it’s head on Saturday. Big thanks to Ruby and Frank for welcoming us into their home and everyone in your family for sharing you with me! I really felt like I knew them all.

You don’t even know how much I’m going to miss you. I’m going to miss all our dramatic antics and pranks but especially the daily dose of laughs. I love you! Happy Birthday Pinky!!!

Oh girl you know I am going to miss you so much. You are my BRAIN… we have shared so much these past 6 years. I know we are going to stay in touch and trust me when I tell you if you need me I will be here for you. Even if Im 100s of miles away.

  14. Happy Birthday! And 25 is not old, I turned 25 in September and I went crying to my mom (my hero and bff) and I said look at these wrinkles, scrunching my face. She says “yeah, only when you make that face!” I’ve felt good about 25 ever since.
But what a birthday celebration! Not only the trip to Cost Rica, but the twins, oh my! Scrumptious! Have a fun, adventurous and safe trip! Enjoy yourself

  15. Spend as much time with your friends and family as possible before leaving.

Four months into my backpacking trip I’m REALLY starting to miss not having physical contact with any of them.

I will return to the United States with a renewed appreciation for all of those close to me.
