How to read an “e-book” on your laptop in photos.

“IN PHOTOS” is a series I will use to share many of the hundreds of photos I have taken during my travels. It is a series I have thought about for a while now, but did not want to start until I got back home from my trip. However after spending a week in Chefchaouen, Morocco I couldn’t wait any longer. “IN PHOTOS” will not have a set schedule like my “MUSIC MONDAY” or “PHOTO ROUND UP” series. “IN PHOTOS” will be a post with several photos with no limit. The only restriction this series will have is that it must be about a certain subject or theme. I will write a brief paragraph or sentence describing the subject or theme of the photos and then post the photos. I will not caption the photos like I do on my “PHOTO ROUND UP” with my thoughts. I want to use “IN PHOTOS” to share my photos and let you come up with your own thoughts about the images and hope you share them with me.

If you know me you know I am not a reader. In fact I hate reading (ironically I love reading blogs, EW & Reuters though) okay wait wait I have read a few books like all 7 Harry Potters, all of Chelsea Handler’s books (she is my writing idol) and a few others here and there. See the sad thing though is until my two weeks in Setrawa I had not read a single book on my trip. I know crazy, but now I could say I have read 3 and that that number will continue to grow. I arrived to Setrawa with “THE WHITE TIGER” by —. I don’t want to say anything about it, but if you are coming to India or have been you should read it. I read through that during my 1st 2 days there. I should get an award for that. Okay I shouldn’t, I read it that fast because we still didn’t have Internet access. We then got Internet access and the thought of reading didn’t cross my mind again.

For a few days I noticed that all everyone was talking about on Facebook was about these HUNGER GAMES. Well after I did some research I found out that it was a popular book series that was turned into a movie series and the 1st one was coming out. I did a bit more research to see what these books were about & HOLY SHIT… I was SOLD. At the start of my trip I met a couple with a file with 1000 e-books and even though I am not a reader I thought ahh why not get it. So I checked the file and BINGO… it sure did have all 3 of them. I read “THE HUNGER GAMES” and “MOCKINGJAY” within 5 days. I am now on book 3 and am reading it very slow… I don’t want it to all end yet.

While I was reading the books on my laptop I realized I always changed positions on how I was reading my books. Having all the free time in the world I asked Val to please photograph me as I did so I could write a “HOW TO” post for the rest of the world to see how to read an “e-book” on your laptop. You can read one with these 4 easy steps.

  • STEP 1: TURN THE LAPTOP ON

  • STEP 2: OPEN THE “E-BOOK” FILE

  • STEP 3: POSITION YOUR SELF IN ONE OF THE POSITION SHOWN BELOW

  • STEP 4: BEGIN READING

Ash #2 is the best position ever, but yeah could see how it doesn’t work on an Iphone. Yeah 1st world problems are tough sometimes.

  3. Incredible 😀

Love all the combined reading+stretching positions…the first one is not an option for me as I have lower back problems, but would definitely go with 14…also, when I read from my laptop, I’m on my back, the laptop warming my belly – it’s so comforting – I shall also attempt number 4 😉

Glad I could make you laugh… I know I am serious sometimes, but also got my goofy side. Oh I know… I feel the same damn way. I am not much of a reader to begin with but I hate reading on my laptop a book, but the books I had to read them and one day I will finish the 3rd one.

  11. I have to pick ONE favorite? I love the one where you’re looking at your laptop across the bed. And reading it like a book. That’s priceless! Too funny!

OMG yes I am reading them Allison… read the 1st two and loved them. I am still on 3 haven’t wanted to finish it… I don’t want it to end. I haven’t been able to see the movie but I want to so bad.

      • You can easily watch it online…FB message me if you want and I shall link you. They did such a great job adapting it, at least in my opinion. I am terribly distraught that I finished the series…I wish they kept going. I’ll probably just read them again! So glad you love it!

I have heard that they did a good job on adapting it. I am excited to watch it and hope I do soon. Oh & I have yet to finish book 3. I will get on it.
