Haha the mattress kind of seems pointless! They may as well have just laid a sheet over the wooden planks! lol

Julia it really was very pointless… I would lay and feel the boards through it. Plus to top it off the sheet was like paper thin. I am slowly getting the hang of hostel life though jaja.

I got a backache just looking at that bed. OUch.

Umm yes Jill I had a backache several nights. It was a mess and hard to sleep on literally.
Sometimes I think it’s worth it to spend a few extra bucks to be comfortable. Or maybe now that I’m 30 I just can’t handle things like sleeping on wooden boards.

I was sharing a room with Jessica & Dani (Globe Trotter Girls) and they got the very comfortable queen size bed… I got that. I couldn’t complain…lol!!!
you should have told them to move over and make room! lol
Hahaha I love the bed π Yes, unfortunately I think it’s exactly what you get for those money π Better than sleep under the stars … or not?
And seeing the first photo, I would never guess Panama City looks like this!
Oh I think I would have prefered to sleep under the stars while in Panama City… the bed was just as hard as the ground.
Haha what a comfy bed π Reminds me of the one I had last night, which broke half way through the night…
Oh please do tell Sofia… How did the bed break in half??? WOW~
Ouch that bed looks really uncomfortable… hope your next hostel was a bit better.

Yes the next 2 have been way better. Its nice to actually get some sleep at night~
I think the consensus is that we want to hear the bed story. π

The bed story is that Jaime didn’t want to pay more for a dorm bed – but they looked actually much more comfortable than his bed π

LOL yup that is the story. Girl its about saving money where you can when you have no income.
yup that sounds like that Jaime I know. CHEAP!!!! he is such a penny pincher but I suppose that’s how you have to do it to last longer on the road
Exactly… gotta save $$$ where I can to make this trip last 2 years ;)~
Eeeeek I can’t believe you slept on that bed!!!

I know me either, but I guess thats part of the adventure as well.
I love the pictures you chose!! The one of the Plaza in Casco Viejo turned out really good, considering the state you were in that day π You’re right about ‘what $6.50 buys you’ – but you should’ve said that you sacrificed 6 nights of good sleep to save $30.00 π
Dani | Globetrottergirls recently posted..Polaroid of the week- Indigenous children near Boquete- Panama
Dani, I know i had to go through them all and I think these were the only ones good enough. As for the plaza pic I know… I was so damn hungover. Ahhh good times!!!
OK, All we want to mention is that sad sad bed, but it looks like everyone else has taken care of that. Quality sleep is important – unless you want to introduce rage into your travel adventures π
The NVR Guys recently posted..Travelogue β on a mission in Washington DC
Oh guys long bus rides are taking care of that for me… jk. Nahhh its all good, I am young I can handle a few nights on a crappy bed.

Only if you could carry your “san macros” with you to easy the pain of boards as a bed. Those things are so thick they can be a sleeping bag!
I love the picture of second picture. It reminds me of my son’s Lego’s toys and cities he plays with.
Oh girl that would make everything so much more comfortable but damn it would be hot. Its hot down here every where I go.
Oh & the skyline is amazing…like for real. I think you would love Panama City.
Yeah, and I think that one picture right there is the biggest thing that would turn me off from staying in hostels/etc around the world. Guess I will just have to save more money and more points to stay in hotels on our travels!
I am too old for that shit! LOL

I know what you mean… but its way to early in my travels for me to not suck t up and just sleep. Im sure I will have worse beds in my travels over the course of this whole adventure. I have to suck it up to make the $$$ last!
Love the skyline shot!
Where were you staying to luck out with the those luxurious accommodations? π

I hope you get the night shot of that!
I was sharring a room with Globetrotter Girls at I think Hostel Casco Viejo.
