I was going to save this for a special post in the future, but I couldn't help it. This is what I slept on for 6 nights in Panama City.

I was going to save this for a special post in the future, but I couldn't help it. This is what I slept on for 6 nights in Panama City. I guess that is what $6.50 a night buys you. It was so uncomfortable and made so much noise and I would sometimes fall through...lol.

One of the many plazas in Casco Viejo and older part of Panama City that is going through reconstruction.

  1. Haha the mattress kind of seems pointless! They may as well have just laid a sheet over the wooden planks! lol

  3. Sometimes I think it’s worth it to spend a few extra bucks to be comfortable. Or maybe now that I’m 30 I just can’t handle things like sleeping on wooden boards.

  4. Hahaha I love the bed πŸ˜€ Yes, unfortunately I think it’s exactly what you get for those money πŸ˜€ Better than sleep under the stars … or not?
And seeing the first photo, I would never guess Panama City looks like this!

  5. Haha what a comfy bed πŸ˜› Reminds me of the one I had last night, which broke half way through the night…

  6. Ouch that bed looks really uncomfortable… hope your next hostel was a bit better.

  9. I love the pictures you chose!! The one of the Plaza in Casco Viejo turned out really good, considering the state you were in that day πŸ˜‰ You’re right about ‘what $6.50 buys you’ – but you should’ve said that you sacrificed 6 nights of good sleep to save $30.00 πŸ™‚

    • Dani, I know i had to go through them all and I think these were the only ones good enough. As for the plaza pic I know… I was so damn hungover. Ahhh good times!!!

  10. OK, All we want to mention is that sad sad bed, but it looks like everyone else has taken care of that. Quality sleep is important – unless you want to introduce rage into your travel adventures πŸ™‚

Only if you could carry your “san macros” with you to easy the pain of boards as a bed. Those things are so thick they can be a sleeping bag!

I love the picture of second picture. It reminds me of my son’s Lego’s toys and cities he plays with.

    • Oh girl that would make everything so much more comfortable but damn it would be hot. Its hot down here every where I go.

Oh & the skyline is amazing…like for real. I think you would love Panama City.

  12. Yeah, and I think that one picture right there is the biggest thing that would turn me off from staying in hostels/etc around the world. Guess I will just have to save more money and more points to stay in hotels on our travels!

I am too old for that shit! LOL

    • I know what you mean… but its way to early in my travels for me to not suck t up and just sleep. Im sure I will have worse beds in my travels over the course of this whole adventure. I have to suck it up to make the $$$ last!

  13. Love the skyline shot!

Where were you staying to luck out with the those luxurious accommodations? πŸ™‚
