Photo Round Up – Week 29

5 photo round up of what I saw/did this week.

Hope you all enjoy them.

EEEEEEeeeeee I AM IN AFRICA (Chefchaouen, Morocco to be exact)!!!! If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you know that already, but I’m sharing it on here  for two reasons. One I’m so excited and can’t believe it. I have always wanted to come to Africa & now I’m here. Two because as y’all know my Photo Round Ups are ALWAYS current they are what I saw/did that week, but at the moment my blog is behind about two weeks so you will not see my 1st Africa post for about 2 weeks. I hope you enjoy these 5 photos and I can not wait to share an amazing photo post I’m working on of Chefchaouen, Morocco.

This photo by no means is amazing, but for me will always hold a spot in my heart. This is my 1st photo in Africa. It's the bus station in Tetouan, Morocco.

I like this photo a lot because I think it sums up and describes the town of Chefchaouen, Morocco very well. Chefchaouen is a small town in the mountains of Morocco and is literally painted a million shades of blue. I love this photo because everything in the photo is blue. That is how it is around every corner in this town.

I have been trying to improve my ability to take shots of people. I think this one may be my best one yet. This lady was just sitting there outside the medina and was oblivious to what I was doing across the street but when I clicked it looks like she saw me. I love this photo so much because she is just so cute I wanna go up to her and talk to her for ages. I also love that she is wearing blue which is the color of the town.

I caught this shot by chance. I was turning the corner and saw a women wearing a scarf the same color as the wall & thought that would make a great shot, but then for some reason she lifted her arm. I have no clue why, but I love it and am glad I was able to capture this moment. Especially with everything going on in many Muslim countries around the world with many fighting for rights we may take for granted.

Outside of Chefchaouen you can walk to a Mosque that is perched on a hill and looks over the town. It is only a 20 minute hike and when it's done you can watch the sun set over the mountains & the town. I know you are not supposed to shoot at the sun, but I did & managed to capture this moment. I love that you can see the town, the mountains & even a small cemetery in front of it. I also like that you can see some of the blue houses from way up there.

  1. Ok… this blue stuff is getting to me (good thing it isn’t blue toilet stuff!) I love the color of blue, now I demand to know why they are stealing my color! 😛

I agree I like the pic of the woman wearing a blue scarf, it matches so well her black dress gives it a stark contrast which edifies the photo very well! I believe your camera is 16x zoom right? Am I also right you’re also facing uphill it looks like; do cars drive on this road she is waking on? Or is there a road that intersects or curves to the right (she is waving her right hand, so my guess would be she’s waving at something/someone to her right).

I agree people photography seems a bit tough to do, I don’t like taking a picture of someone and then they notice I am taking a pic of them its one thing if they are oblivious but I still would rather not I dunno; I know a lot of people would rather not have their photos taken however at the same time I am not going to ask every single person I see if its ok either.

LOVE it! Keep showing us more!

    • Jajaja Shanoon… I’m sure they had it long before you did…lol jk!!! Actually my camera only has a 10x zoom… I wish 16 that would be even better. For the shot of the lady with her fist up… I know no vehicles come here and I am not sure where it leads. I probably could never find it again… so many in this town!!! So who knows… maybe she saw me about to take a photo and raised a fist.

Yes people photography is VERY HARD to do. I try because I want to capture some of the people I encounter on the road and because they make such interesting photos. Like when I see that old lady I wanna know more about her… I really just would love to talk to her for days.

  2. Jaime, that last photo is breathtaking. I stared at it for a few minutes, just taking it in. I imagine it was a million times better in person…love it!

  10. I love how there are so many shots of sunrises despite the fact that you’re not supposed to shoot into the sun. It’s like it has powers that take over you haha. Anyway, I’m loving this place! Thanks for sharing the photos!
