Photo Round Up – Week 83 & 84

10 photo round up of what I saw/did these last 2 weeks.

Hope you all enjoy them.

WEEK 83

Elephant Parks in Thailand

Something I had always wanted to was ride an elephant… and I finally did while I was in Chiang Mai. Oh it was such an amazing experience that I know is a controversial one. I will be writing about my experience spending the day learning how to talk with the elephants, feeding them, bathing them, and just loving them in more detail soon.

The eye of an elephant close up

I took so many photos that day, but this one is by far my favorite. I can’t believe I was able to get my camera that close to it and capture this. It’s such a beautiful animal and when I see this photo… I wonder what she is thinking.

Chiang Mai man.

Not an amazing shot, but I just love it… I was walking through the streets of Chiang Mai and saw this man just sitting there with not a worry in the world. He looks so old and cute and in shape. I wish I could have zoomed in, but my camera is messing up again and didn’t let me at that moment.

Bungalow in Chiang Mai lake!

During our time in Chiang Mai we heard about this lake that is only 20 mins outs of the city so decided to spend a day out there. We went in a group had lunch in a lil bungalow and spent the day swimming and relaxing all curing a hangover from the night before. It was so nice because we were the only tourist, the rest were locals just spending the day relaxing and enjoying the sun as we were. The lake was so damn beautiful and loved the mountain in front of us.

Simple home in Chiang Mai

This was a lil house/business by the lake. I have an obsession with taking photographs of hanging clothes. I don’t know why I just love photographing hanging clothes and when I saw this loved it, but what I loved even more is how simple it is. I mean really look at this it is a a lil home made of the most simple materials of the world and nothing lavish about it at all and yet the people here are so happy. It makes me always wonder about how we live at home with so many things we really don’t need. It reminds me that life isn’t complicated we make it complicated.

WEEK 84

The Bucket in Thailand

The fucking bucket… it’s famous in the backpacker trail of SEAsia and a huge deal in Thailand. I had seen this in many photos of people traveling through SEAsia and have always wanted to have one… and well I finally did. I popped my bucket and cherry and loved it. Even though really these should be illegal cus they are deadly… by deadly is you just get so damn wasted. I plan on documenting every bucket I drink and writing about my thoughts on this when I leave SEAsia.

Sairee Beach, Koh Tao

This is my beach… the one I have been spending my days at. It’s at the end of the main beach on Koh Tao, but so beautiful. The water is so clear and calm and shallow it’s bliss.

Sunset in Thailand

This man had spent the day walking back and forth on the beach selling corn on the cob and pineapple. We bought some corn from him and was amazing. As the sun was setting he set his baskets down and spent some time walking in the water when I captured this shot. I like it so much because it’s his silhouette but for some reason reminds me of a scarecrow because of his skinny legs, or a cowboy because of his hat.

Fire on the beach!

Love love love this shot… I mean it’s amazing. We’ve been spending our nights at a bar that puts on a fire show every night. I know I just have a point and shoot but love that I know how to use manuel now and know I am ready for a DSLR. Well I am happy I was able to set it just right to capture this shot.

The Beautiful beach in the world.

I couldn’t believe it… I mean it’s unreal I kept telling myself, I had seen this photo many times around the blogesphere and knew I wanted to visit here one day and well I did. I spent the day at Nangyuan Island and it was amazing. This is by far the best beach I have ever visited in my life. It was so fucking unreal… the water was damn clear… and so damn calm and just so damn beautiful. I mean this is a photo you see in a magazine and say “oh one day I wanna visit one day” and maybe never do, but I did… I was here. If this doesn’t inspire you to see the world I don’t know what will. I can’t wait to frame this at home.
