Photo Round Up – Week 38

5 photo round up of what I saw/did this week.

Hope you all enjoy them.

The famous Island/Rock of Es Vedra moments before sun dwindles down behind it to set. This rock is famous for the mystery it holds "Is it the island of Sirens in Homers epics?", "Did UFO's use this as a landing place?", "Were parts of Es Vedra used to build Egyptian Pyramids?", "Is it the tip of the sunken Island of Atlantis?" ... those are a few of the mysteries people have pondered for centuries. One thing that is a fact is "Due to extremely high concentrations of metals and minerals the rock creates a highly magnetic field, resulting, into ’3th most magnetic spot’ on the globe, that may disturb compasses in the surrounding area and also may influence more sensitive individuals.". When I was there I didn't feel anything... but now after I have read up on it I am wondering about Aliens... it would make a perfect landing spot. When I saw photos I thought it's just a rock poking out, but when you see it it is impressive.

I went back to Barcelona for 2 nights & well if you have been following my blog at all you know these are "My Girls". Ahhh I love them so much. They are just so awesome. On Sunday night we had a last dinner and enjoyed a nice night of chatting. They are great friends and hopefully I will be seeing them all in Barcelona. I won't say anymore because I have a post on this coming out Tuesday!

Need I say anything... the famous Gondola's of Venice! I love this photo... it could seriously be a postcard. Random fact about them "Gondolas are hand made using 8 different types of wood (fir, oak, cherry, walnut, elm, mahogany, larch and lime) and are composed of 280 pieces". I didn't know that.

Ahhh a town I fell in love with. The town of Burano about a 45 minute boat ride outside of Venice. I had forgot all about it, but then I came across a magnet with a photo of it and remembered, I had heard of this town before. That night came back to the hostel and did my research on how to get there and back. I ended up visiting, Murano, Burano & Torcello it was a long day but worth it. I took so many pictures of this town I can't wait to go through them all and make a post. Interesting fact about this town: The colours of the houses follow a specific system originating from the golden age of its development; if someone wishes to paint their home, one must send a request to the government, who will respond by making notice of the certain colours permitted for that lot. Seriously every home is a different color. Oh it's just amazing and I love the reflection in the water.

Some photos just don't need any descriptions or thoughts... this of course is the FAMOUS - RIALTO BRIDGE. This stone bridge was finally completed in 1591 & I bet you if the people who constructed this could see the crap that is being sold there (touristy souvenirs) they would be pissed. How does something this beautiful end up being shops for crap? Ahh the bridge is amazing This is actually the last photo I took in Venice. I finished my 2 days there with a bang an amazing shot of the Rialto. I can't wait to write about Venice and share so many of the photos I got.

    • Thanks Matt, as for actually visiting it the friend that took me there said no one is allowed on that island. If you want to go you have to get special permission. The thing is I know you can rent canoes there during the summer and circle it and well I don’t think they would know if you got to it from the back! If you ever do I’d love to know. It’s very impressive.
