Music Monday – Maybe

Anyone who meets me knows I love music. I love all types… ummm okay I love most types of music. For me its about the lyrics and what it is the artist is talking about or what message they are trying to convey. I love to dissect a song and its lyrics completely. Every Monday I want to post a song that either inspires me, makes me think about the world we live in, motivates me to always be who I am or may be something I was feeling at some point. It will be a great mix of different types of music and hope it will also do the same for you. I love to think that music captures what so many of us may be feeling or want to say, but don’t know how.

WHY I PICKED IT – I’ve mentioned it on twitter a million times that this is my favorite song of all time, but have never said why. Yes it’s a Kelly Clarkson song & since I was finally able to meet her on Saturday (post on that coming out tomorrow) thought it was time to share why. Her album My December (my favorite album of all time) came out around the same time I went through a horrible break up with my Ex. Even though I knew I would never get back with him I always thought well “MAYBE” some day when things are right. Then I heard this song and it was exactly what I was feeling at the time & fell in love with it. I would play it on repeat a million times while just laying on the floor. This song describes EVERY single EMOTION I had at that time. I think we have all felt this way at some point after a break up. Now that the years have passed and I have grown up I can still relate to this song. Not because I am thinking one day I will get back with my Ex, but because sometimes this is how I feel about finding love. The 1st verse describes me to a T and of course right now I am 100% happy with my life, but sometimes I wish I had a partner to share it with. The past 3 years of my life I have not felt like it was a right time for me to have one and even now don’t think I should so I keep thinking “MAYBE” one day when the time is right I will find the love of my life. Or who knows “MAYBE” I’ll find him on the road… but seriously this songs lyrics are so basic yet amazing (at least to me).
