Anyone who meets me knows I love music. I love all types… ummm okay I love most types of music. For me its about the lyrics and what it is the artist is talking about or what message they are trying to convey. I love to dissect a song and its lyrics completely. Every Monday I want to post a song that either inspires me, makes me think about the world we live in, motivates me to always be who I am or may be something I was feeling at some point. It will be a great mix of different types of music and hope it will also do the same for you. I love to think that music captures what so many of us may be feeling or want to say, but don’t know how.
SONG – This Is My Now
ARTIST – Jordin Sparks
LYRICS –
There was a time I packed my dreams away
Living in a shell, hiding from myself
There was a time when I was so afraid
I thought I’d reached the end, baby that was then
But I am made of more than my yesterdays
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can’t believe the love I see
My fear’s behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now
I had to decide, was I gonna to play it safe?
Or look somewhere deep inside, try to turn the tide
And find the strength to take that step of faith?
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can’t believe the love I see
My fear’s behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now
But I have a courage like never before, yeah
I’ve settled for less, but I’m ready for more
Ready for more!
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can’t believe the love I see
My fear’s behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now!
I’m living in the moment
As I look around I can’t believe the love I see
My fear’s behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now, this is my now
LISTEN TO IT HERE – This Is My Now, Jordin Sparks
WHY I PICKED IT – I love listening to music and especially while I’m on my laptop working on my blog (surfing the internet). I normally always listen to the same albums over and over again, but this week I picked Jordin Sparks album & this song came on. I had forgot all about this song, but am glad I came across it again. This is a very motivational song about living in the NOW… about knowing this is our NOW. It talks about times when we are afraid (aren’t we all), but we moved ahead and learned this is our NOW. Go ahead listen to it. I hope it motivates you to live in the NOW and make the choices you want to make NOW to make you HAPPY. Put your fears and doubts behind you… this is your moment, LIVE IT!!!
All I can think of when I hear this song, is when we were at work seminar with Russ. We held hands with strangers and swayed to Jordin Sparks! NDS It is a motivational and inspiring song but I don’t think it received the exposure it deserved.
Keep living your now Jaime. I’m so happy for you.

jajaja I think of that too and was actually going to write about it… but didnt. Ahhh good times. Thanks again for being so awesome and so supportive!!!
Um, was this her AI song, for real?
Kent @ No Vacation Required recently posted..Every Action Counts
Yup this was her AI song for real…lol!!! I know cheesy but good lyrics!
It boggles my mind that some people ignore lyrics completely when they listen to music. I had a friend who would sign along and when I’d tell her I liked the lyrics, she’d be like, “Oh, I never really noticed before.” Good lyrics can make or break a song!
I know for real… I am the same way. For me it has always been about the lyrics… I love love love reading lyrics and listening to them and trying to dissect what the artist is trying to say!
