Anyone who meets me knows I love music. I love all types… ummm okay I love most types of music. For me its about the lyrics and what it is the artist is talking about or what message they are trying to convey. I love to dissect a song and its lyrics completely. Every Monday I want to post a song that either inspires me, makes me think about the world we live in, motivates me to always be who I am or may be something I was feeling at some point. It will be a great mix of different types of music and hope it will also do the same for you. I love to think that music captures what so many of us may be feeling or want to say, but don’t know how.

WHY I PICKED IT – It’s no secret that I love country music. This song is one that I’ve heard several times and had kept thinking I need to make this a Music Monday, but kept forgetting. Until recently when I read it as someones twitter status that this is how they felt. I wrote it down and listened to it again a few times and damn… this is is SPOT ON how I felt when I was stuck in my cubicle at work, before I started this trip. When you are working a job you hate you can’t help but think “There’s gotta be something more… Gotta be more than this… I need a little less hard time… I need a little more bliss” and it’s true… there is something more. The thing is though you have to make it happen for you. Kinda like Kelly mentions in Breakaway “take a chance” here it’s the same message you have to take chances to make things happen for you. So go for it “something more” is attainable and you can have it. I love that this song mentions 5 years because I had been working at my job for 6 and was so damn burnt out. Now I am enjoying my Breakaway and will worry about the future when that time comes. Do what you need to do to be happy. So listen to this song and remember “something more” will always be out there.
The only other Sugarland song I’ve heard is Stuck Like Glue which Scott got me into and which I love. However, this is also pretty good and I can definitely relate to it at the minute while I’m still stuck in the office! You and him will turn me into country fans if it kills you, with your mutual love of Kenny Chesney haha 🙂

Oh I am about to tweet ya a Sugarland song that you will LOVE… its so fucking sad… I mean sad I cried when I 1st heard it. Its called STAY and its about being the other women (I have NEVER been the other man). This song though is a song everyone can relater too… we all want something more! I hope Scott & I do get you hooked on country… its amazing. I love it!
