Music Monday – I’m Like A Bird

Anyone who meets me knows I love music. I love all types… ummm okay I love most types of music. For me its about the lyrics and what it is the artist is talking about or what message they are trying to convey. I love to dissect a song and its lyrics completely. Every Maonday I want to post a song that either inspires me, makes me think about the world we live in, motivates me to always be who I am or may be something I was feeling at some point. It will be a great mix of different types of music and hope it will also do the same for you. I love to think that music captures what so many of us may be feeling or want to say, but don’t know how.

WHY I PICKED IT – Was going through my iTunes the other day and came across this song. I hadn’t heard it in like forever and for some reason it always reminds me of one of my best friends. Anyway I listened to it and then listened to it a few more times and then it hit me… this is me. Hear me out… I know it sounds crazy, but I think this song is about loving someone and having to let go of them because well you are like a bird. I am that bird… I am that person now that will always leave, because I am not ready to settle down. The last part is 100% how I feel right now about my current situation in Egypt. I know it’s amazing I know I love him, I know I wanna be with him, but I know I wanna be like a bird and explore the world too and know I am eventually gonna leave. Anyway even though it’s an old song I love the lyrics and I picked it because it is how I feel at the moment. Can any of you relate to this song?
