The best shot I could get of the famous “Mona Lisa”. I love that her eyes follow you no matter where you are in the room.
I’ve spent a week in Paris and have a lot to write about. I am still here and am sad to leave tomorrow. I will write about the delicious foods I ate and the things I did/saw, but first I want to write about “Mona Lisa”. I went to the largest museum in the world yesterday “Musée du Louvre” and met her. She has been one of the world’s most famous paintings for over 500 years. What is it about this piece of art that has made it so famous? I think it’s because it is surrounded by so much mystery. Is she the wife of a wealthy Florentine merchant? Is she Leonardo da Vinci’s mother? Is she Leonardo in drag? Is it because she’s been stolen and vandalized many times? Honestly I don’t know and don’t get it and instead of giving you the history and my thoughts on it I want to share a story of the many paintings around her and what they may be thinking.
Yup a tiny portrait has an entire wall to her self. I would be jealous too.
You see “Mona Lisa” hangs in a room with a lot of other paintings, but she has an entire wall in the middle of the room to her self. One of the things I observed was the other paintings in the room don’t get much love and I think they notice. Everyone seems to flock to see “Mona Lisa” and I think the rest of them are jealous of her.
I took pictures of the paintings around “Mona Lisa” and I swear I think this is what they are thinking!

So yup that is what I think these paintings are thinking. I actually feel sorry for them. I stood there a bit in the room and watched everyone just come and go visiting “Mona Lisa” and only a few would look at the other paintings in the room. Oh & yes before you ask I thought of all these little quote while standing there looking at them. I would stare at the portrait study it a bit and then come up with what they are probably thinking and then snap a picture. I guess you can do stuff like this when you have to much time on your hands… or you are just a bit crazy like me. So what do you think these pictures are thinking? Am I right wouldn’t you be jealous of “Mona Lisa” too?

Ok… I have to admit you need to be admitted to the mental hospital; I’m surprised nobody has taken the angle that you’re mocking Mona Lisa (but I don’t care, funny post anyway!).
