Music Monday – Starts with Goodbye

Anyone who meets me knows I love music. I love all types… ummm okay I love most types of music. For me its about the lyrics and what it is the artist is talking about or what message they are trying to convey. I love to dissect a song and its lyrics completely. Every Monday I want to post a song that either inspires me, makes me think about the world we live in, motivates me to always be who I am or may be something I was feeling at some point. It will be a great mix of different types of music and hope it will also do the same for you. I love to think that music captures what so many of us may be feeling or want to say, but don’t know how.

WHY I PICKED IT –  I think most of you already know what’s going on in my life at the moment and if not well you can read  A love story with an expiration date. It says it all. Yeah the days are drifting away and the closer the day I leave Cairo gets here the more I wanna cry, scream yell and run from life because I am so scared. I already made the decision and I know I wanna leave, but it’s just hard to accept. I didn’t think I could find a song that shows how I am feeling at the moment, but I was listening to Carrie Underwoods first album Some Hearts today and heard this song. I have heard it many many times but never put much thought to it and well now I can’t stop playing it. These lyrics fucking kill me… they really do ugh I’m crying right now. I’m a mess…

I hate that he actually understands and is okay with what I am doing… a part of me wishes he didn’t and would just ask me to stay with him forever, but then I know it would be so much harder. I’ve spent the last 7 months with him in my life and know I will be leaving a piece of my heart behind. I just know I’m at a crossroads and must choose what is best for me… I had to make the choice and made it.

This is already happening to me and I haven’t even fucking left Cairo… I know it’s gonna be so damn hard and know I’m gonna be a mess when I leave. I just hate that she is right sometimes we must say goodbye to move on with our lives.

The last line is how I feel… life is bitter sweet and I hate that we can’t have it all. I know when I leave I will be saying goodbye to him, but know it’s not the end. I know we will keep and touch and if in the future things are meant to be then they will be. For now I must continue on with my life. Sorry for this crazy emotional hot mess of a Music Monday… it’s actually only Tuesday Aug 14 and I have already got this ready to post. I normally do it the night of.
