Leshan Giant Buddha

For the spiritual purposes and just for excellent views, make a stop at Leshan Giant Buddha. Built in the eighth century to calm a raging river almost in the middle of the forest, this massive sculpture of Buddha will take your breath away for sure. In fact, it is the largest sitting Buddha on the planet and a real architectural miracle of ancient Chinese people. So – this Buddha surely belongs on this list.

Hanging Temple

Another stop is also a sacred place. Very nearby the capital of China – the city of Beijing – there is this incredible hanging temple. Suspended over 100 feet above the valley floor, the buildings there are all connected by a series of wooden walkways making a stunning view and a unique experience while walking in it as well. In fact, this great temple, that is famous for its mix of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian influences, is not that popular among tourists. So then you visit it you might not meet tons of annoying tourists walking around and blocking the breathtaking view.

Terracotta Army

You just must visit famous Terracotta Army while visiting China as well. The site features thousands of life-sized soldiers, officers, horses and chariots, each with individualized faces and uniforms making it all look very real and surprisingly scary. And in fact, all of this stuff was made to honor one ancient Chinese emperor. So you will get a chance to walk in a massive grave! Despite this fact, Terracotta Army is one of the most popular tourists attractions in China, and it would be a sin not to stop by here.

Great Wall of China

No list of must-see places in China can be without the Great Wall. We all know at least one myth about it – that we can see it from space – but, in fact, the Great Wall of China has a lot more to offer than that. No wonder why it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World along with Egypt’s pyramids and other architectural wonders. And since we all know this fact, there are millions of tourists there too. So to avoid those huge masses, try visiting it in winter then tourists’ season is over. And make sure to bring comfy shoes as well!

Yangshuo

The name of Yangshuo might not be famous, but I bet that you seen a little bit of this extraordinary place already! Remember those floating mountains in James Cameron’s movie the Avatar? Well, these mountains were inspired by real existing Yangshuo Mountains! And you just must visit it one day! Many travelers describe Yangshuo as their favorite part of China, and also recommend renting bikes to explore without tons of other people wandering around. Trust me – just Google images of this place and you won’t need any further explanations why you must see this place one day.
