A nice welcome to Panama City!

I could have written this post yesterday, but I spent the day doing nothing. I woke up at 1pm and then decided to spend my last day in Panama City watching movies on my laptop. I was exhausted from doing something everyday. I watched “The Proposal” and “Easy A” both very good and funny movies.

Anywho I am sure you want to know if I survived my mini melt down or if the red dots on my legs have gone away or if I finally got a new camera. Well to answer those questions yes I survived my mini melt down, the red dots have gone away (THANK GOD) and I bought a new camera (set me back $139.09, but oh well I needed it).

I spent the past week still tagging along with the Globe Trotter Girls, Jessica & Dani. We spent two days in Boquete and I fell in love with that little mountain town. It is so cute snuggled between so many mountains. I think I love it more because the highlight of my trip (so far) happened there. I spent one of the days with Dani walking around the mountains for hours and along the way we came across a family of indigenous children. We stopped for a bit and chatted with them. They were so quite and seemed to be in awe of us when really I was in awe of them. I asked them a few questions and then if they spoke English the oldest one said, “no”. I asked him if he wanted to learn a few words he said, “yes”. I taught him how to say hi and bye in English. He got the hang of it fast and when it was time to go he told us bye a few times. As we walked away I got teary eyed, because that was just such a fucking awesome feeling.

My favorite moment by far. Ugh they are so damn cute, I just want to bring them all home.

From there we made our way to Panama City. This is where it gets interesting and is what a lot of you have been harassing me to give full details about. So the three of us started our long bus ride down to the city. Along the way on one of the stops the guy next to me got off and on another stop another guy sat next to me. As soon as he walked by and sat down I looked at Jessica and we both mouthed “he’s family” code for “he’s gay” (it’s something I taught Jessica and Dani to start saying that I use at home. It’s so much nicer then saying oh he or she is …). So a few hours along he starts talking to me. He made small talk and asked me a few questions. I answered them and asked a few back no big deal.

We finally made it to Panama City, I said bye to the guy. We got our luggage and we all needed to use the restroom so we did. I still have not mastered how to handle my backpack, daypack & money belt in a restroom stall. So it naturally took me forever as I walked out of my stall I bumped into the guy from the bus. I said “hi”, and went on to wash my hands after I finished washing my hands as I started walking out he tapped me on my shoulder. I said “yes” and he asked me to come here, I said “okay”. He said he had a proposition for me, curious as I am I said “okay what’s up” (this is all happening in Spanish). He said “I am gay and I think you are too”, in my head I was like OMG HOW THE HELL DOES HE KNOW, but lol I know its sometimes obvious I can’t help it. So anywho I said “okay and…” he said “well I think you are cute and I would like to know if you would please show my your penis in one of the stalls?” I had no clue what to say and just said ”oh no I can’t do that”, turned around and walked away. I couldn’t believe what just happened, I was giggling and of course had to gossip with the girls and let them know what happened. They of course thought I was hooking up with the guy… how horrible of them to think that, but who am I kidding if he was cute I probably would have, jk! Looking back at the situation now I kinda feel bad for the guy. I mean he had the nerves to ask me, so maybe I should have showed him my penis. Anywho, I didn’t and that was my nice welcome to Panama City.

The next several days in Panama City were very busy and filled with activities. At first I didn’t think I was going to like it but in the end I must admit it’s a great city with a lot to offer. Some of the things we did were go to the mall (had to get a new camera), Panama Canal, Isla Taboga, Parque Metropolitano,  also walked around Casco Viejo and did so much more just can’t think of it right now. Oh and one of the nights we even went to one of the gay bars and well I will leave that story for another time (it’s interesting how gay clubs work down here). For now I made it to David, Panama all on my own. I had to say goodbye to my girls this morning as they headed off to Germany. I have to get used to being alone again, so off I go to enjoy the night in David.

The red dots, I got them in Panama too, they are just bug bites but don’t scratch or they get nasty.

Cameras are cheapest in Panama, if anything it was your lucky day.

And crazy bathroom story! That guy has balls! Pun intended 🙂

I’m hoping after I get back from my road trip (before or after I go home) that we can have a Skype chat!!! It’s about time we “met”!
